In her long life as a painter Roos Nagtegaal constantly reinvented herself as a painter and continued to experiment: landscapes, floral still lives, buildings in exotic places and engaging portraits. She did it all. Expressionistic, impressionistic, large colour surfaces; all with strong brush strokes. Since her move to Drenthe in 1967 she has also been considered a Drenthe artist. She continued painting well into advanced age.
